How Candidly Yours Helped Me Turn My Love for Content Creation into a Wedding Business

Hello, lovely readers!

I’m Mollie, the heart and soul behind Candidly Yours. It feels surreal to be sharing this very first post with you —one that’s both deeply personal and, I hope, a little bit magical for you too. There’s something beautifully vulnerable about opening up in a space like this, and I’m ready to share the raw, unfiltered moments that have shaped my path so far.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been hopelessly, perhaps even obsessively, in love with creating content. It’s a love that started early and has only deepened over the years. I can still remember myself at around 10 years old, clutching my very first iPad like it was a treasure. I would invite my friends over, and together we’d make silly little films on iMovie and Video Star, each one brimming with the kind of unrefined creativity that only childhood can produce. And, of course, I’d drag my family into it, making them watch each production like it was the next Oscar-worthy masterpiece…We’ve all been there, right?

But it didn’t stop there. Somewhere along the way, I found my love for editing. I spent hours in apps like Picsart, tinkering with images, adding layers, playing with colours until they felt alive. What I didn’t know then was that this would become my lifelong passion.

Over the years, my obsession with creating content has evolved, yes, but the essence of it remains the same: the joy of storytelling, of capturing fleeting moments, and of expressing something deeply personal through a lens. Whether it’s making montages for friends on their birthdays, creating content for brands or crafting full-scale wedding videos, every project has been a chance to pour my heart into something meaningful. And each one taught me something new about the art of visual storytelling, but also about myself.

Why Wedding Content Creation Matters

Candidly Yours was born from years of passion and encouragement from those closest to me. What started as birthday videos and montages eventually blossomed into something more meaningful—capturing weddings. Friends and family would often say, "You have a gift for this. You should make it your own," and eventually, I took the leap.

My journey took a pivotal turn when I attended my cousin Lewis's wedding to the beautiful Rachel Valentine in Marbella. It was one of those moments where everything felt aligned. Rachel, a talented influencer, was celebrating the biggest day of her life, and I had the privilege of being there, not just as family, but also as someone passionate about capturing memories.

It was an incredible opportunity to create content that felt both natural and personal, showcasing not just the stunning details of the day, but the candid moments of love and joy that make weddings unforgettable. Rachel, being so supportive, kindly shared my work with her community, and that small act of generosity allowed me to reach a wider audience and begin to book clients of my own.

This experience wasn’t about leveraging her platform for my gain, it was about creating something meaningful together. It was in those moments that Candidly Yours was truly born. I realised how deeply fulfilling it is to capture real, raw moments and transform them into something that couples could cherish forever. The response I received from that experience gave me the confidence to pursue this passion on my own terms, and since then, I’ve been fortunate to help many couples tell their own unique love stories.

Whether you're here as a couple looking for someone to capture your wedding day or simply someone who shares a love for storytelling, I’m so grateful you’re here. I’m excited to share more of my work, my process, and my heart with you. Thank you for joining me on this adventure.

With love, Mollie
